Greenest School contest has Alberta contestant

May 4, 2010
A student from Alberta made the top 10 in Canada’s Greenest School contest. On Earth Day, April 22, Ciaus Doig, a Grade 3 student at Chester Ronning School, in Camrose, had his artwork promoting environmental consciousness posted online at www.canadasgreenestschool.ca alongside the work of the other nine finalists. Now it’s up to Canadians to vote for their favourite. The entry that receives the most votes will win three prizes: a $500 certificate that the winning student’s teacher can use for school supplies; a $3,000 scholarship for the student and a $200,000 hybrid school bus for the school division. The contest is sponsored by I.C. Bus.

Ciaus’s dad, Trevor Doig, is a teacher at Camrose Composite High School.
